band lineup

Tishamingo

Tishamingo consists of longtime friends Cameron Williams (guitar/vocals), Jess Franklin (guitar/vocals/keys), Stephen Spivey (Bass), Richard Proctor (drums), and Jason Fuller (Keys, Vocals). Aged to smoothness and sweet to the senses, Tishamingo intoxicates their audiences with driving guitar parts, gritty vocals, and a rhythm section that provides a tight pocket for a zesty musical blend. From their original songs to some more obscure covers they spin with the Tishamingo twist, the five members of the band create a musical cocktail that’s one part southern swamp rock n’ roll, one part soul, and stirred up with some sweet funk.

The Retrograde

Though The Retrograde is not the first band to find inspiration in the classics, they are without a doubt the first to do so with the level of respect and originality that they are speedily becoming synonymous with. While many of their contemporaries with a flair for vintage romantics and beat down tube amps find themselves falling into patterns of imitation rather than inspiration, our Tallahassee boys stay classic but never stale, vintage but never dusty. - Rob Lucchesi

The Apalachicola Sound

Following in the same vein as Ronnie Van Zant and Sturgill Simpson, the Apalachicola Sound is steering their own brand of red dirt – honest story telling through the brackish water that is country music. Their first album, “Gritwater” is a down to earth collection of songs written from the heart and his passion can be heard through his singing and lyrics with just the right amount of Kris Kristofferson seriousness and a touch of southern rock swagger.

Described by his fans as “country music with integrity,” His lyrics have depth and meaning. In his song “Cost,” he tackles the issue of drugs in our nation, specifically taking aim at the opioid crisis and the pharmaceutical conglomerates that are taking human lives with little to no consequences. “Water Wars” where in his own words, “is about trying to save The Apalachicola Bay from corruption and greed.”

The band name was taken from that song and also a nod to the great music and magic that came out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. All of the songs were written on a dock in that bay with a fishing rod in hand. They are avid conservationists, southern storytellers just out here trying to revive that good ol’ swamp music!

about us

Field Day Music Fest was a vision born between two close friends, Stacy Hartmann and Katie Pernell. Stacy had a history of creating unique and amazing event experiences to raise funds for various non-profits in our community and her next idea involved a family-friendly music event. Knowing that Katie had recently lost her mother to cancer and was looking for a way to honor her, Stacy shared her plan.

While explaining the fundraising idea to friends, Stacy realized she had been calling the outdoor event “Field Day” and immediately the group agreed that this would be perfect for Katie’s foundation. Katie’s late mother’s name was Judy Field; from that day on, Field Day became more than just an event, but a cause.

Judy Field passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2014. Since her passing, Katie and her family set up a memorial foundation in her name. It is the mission of the Judy Field Memorial Foundation to give back to community members affected by pancreatic cancer, as well as investing in research to help with prevention of the disease.

JUDY FIELD MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

The Judy Field Memorial Foundation was started by the late Judy Field’s family for the purpose of raising funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer. Judy was a vibrant member of the Tallahassee community, involved with her church, garden club, and interior design business. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Judy fought a tough battle for over two years before succumbing to the disease in 2014 at the age of 62.

Unfortunately, there are many others like Judy. Both the lack of early detection or effective treatment options for the disease contributes to the rising numbers of diagnoses and deaths from pancreatic cancer. According to the Cancer Statistics 2024 report, pancreatic cancer has surpassed breast cancer to become the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. The five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is 13 percent, making it the lowest survival rate of any major cancer. The Judy Field Memorial Foundation is determined to make an impact on the pancreatic cancer community.
